Hey Sandi, Dice is doing really well! He's settling in nicely now and getting a good bond with him. I've taught him to sit by hand signal, down, come and stay (sort of lol, he gets worried that I'm going to leave him :()! Oh and he's getting the hang of 'look' too, so proud of him! I'll get a video and pop it on YouTube at some point so you can see his progress :D also been starting to get him to move away to which ever way I point to (arm to chest then point away) which he's done great at!! Still can't thank you enough :D

Aw that's brilliant! Very cute that he won't leave you, he obviously feels safe with you :D
A video would be brilliant, I was going to do the same with poppy so I could show you but my camera charger seems to have dropped off the face of the planet since december when I last used it  if I find it I'll do the same for you though :)
Sounds like you're making great strides! Well done both of you! :D

Oriel,
Chipper is cute! :D

Lovely pics!!

So, in addition to our 11 Siberian Huskies we also now have 2 Border Collies. Harry Collie is 6, he runs in harness with the Huskies. Our newest addition is Barney Collie who is 10 weeks old and an absolute nutter. We are stopping at 2 'non-huskies'. You can just see Harry Collie in my bottom right hand picture, he's behind the black and white Husky running lead on my team.

I love all the pictures, my lad is 5 next week we had him from a rescue 18 months ago after he had been there unable to be rehomes for over 12 months. Luckily he settled straight in with us and is a lovely dog who brings us lots of pleasure.

Not yet worked out how to upload a picture but will keep trying!!

Loving all the photos - some really gorgeous collies in here!

I'll share some of the love of my life...Meet Oz. He was from a border collie rescue place though he isn't your traditional black and white! He definitely has collier traits, although maybe he is crossed with something else? (I don't care as love him regardless!) He is a star - very lovable, clever, lively - but he does have an independant streak (maybe as he was a stray?)

I am loving the 'pairs' of collies, they all look fantastic together!

Adopter - 12 months?? That's an awfully long time, poor pup.. Was there a reason why he was there for so long?

Dollymix - What an unusual but lovely looking dog! There has got to be collie in him definitely. He looks as though he's just woken up in the last picture :D

Please keep them coming! I love looking at all of your pictures and hearing their stories :)

Dollymix what lovely photo's.

My dog was in rescue kennels for so long because two people tried him and took him back next day as 'destructive in house', and traffic chaser so difficult to walk on lead as he used to spin - strange because he has never touched anything in our house and the spinning has been sorted as well. However he is very reactive to noise which does upset him, we live down a long drive away from noise so may be that is why he has settled. That and letting him share our bed for the first night - he jumped straight in between us and never moved and has been my OH shawdow ever since!!!! Just to add that he does have his own bednext to ours and only that once slept with us!!!

This is Leroy who I'm living with at the moment. He's a Border Collie x Staffie, and you can see each breed very clearly in him. He's 5 months and was born in a rescue centre. He's very excitable but very clever, I taught him down and paw in under a week and I know nothing about training! Sit is great, he's getting much better at it when in busy environment and also when he's excited. Stay is hopeless so far, would much rather be with you. And he also jumps up a lot and has been nipping a bit, unfortunately he lives with 3 young children with 2 more next door. But he's getting better at leaving when told. He's been out meeting lots of other dogs on our walks and has been getting along with them all well, although he can be a bit bouncy for them!

Any tips in getting him not to jump and nip would be great! Apologies, the photos are huge!

SuperH & Maisiemoo are your dogs related? In your pictures they each look very similar to their 'partner'!

No not at all, although they do have very similar markings. One is long haired and a much finer dog, the other is short haired with longer more robust limbs. I'll try to take a couple more photos today and add them :) I'll also add a photo of our last collie who was nearly all white.

Lovely puppy Captin Bridget, this thread is when we need a like button all the dogs are lovely!

I want another but Charlie is still too uncertain of other dogs to risk yet, but hopefully in the not too distant future we can get another from the Border Collie Rescue.

Thanks! He is vert photogenic and quite the poser! :)

It's funny with rescue collies, from what I have heard, they are often returned to the home they're from as people find them difficult to rehabilitate!

We think Oz was about 1 when he came to us. He had been caught as a stray and was going to be put down if no one took him :( We fell in love with him straight away though as he practically threw himself into our arms when we went to pick him up!

He is about 8 now and has certainly had his moments. When we first got him, I worked at a place only a short drive away so we tried leaving him home, so I could take him out at lunch etc, but he destroyed our lino floor...through three rooms and a corridor!! Oops! We also tried keep him him outdoors which he hated and howled the place down - so instead he is my husband's travel partner....he has literally travelled the length and breadth of Britain! He loves it and has no issue with staying in the car if OH is at a customer's office...in fact his regular customers get him to bring Oz in! Also, now he is older (and wiser?!lol) he is happy to stay home and have a duvet day if the weather is too hot or cold for him to be in the car! My husband loves habing him with him as he walks him between customers so he gets 'away from it all' for 10-15 mins at points through the day too!

He was quite hard to train, as when he was young, he wasn't interested in food at all so you couldn't treat and reward good behaviour. He is highly intelligent though so he did learn the important stuff!!

He has been my dog of a life time and I haven't met one person who doesn't love him
