We would like to keep bantams and my Dad has offered to build us a house for them. I've just been to my local DIY place and looked at the houses and runs they sell (to get some design ideas) and they are tiny! We have a sheltered area at the bottom of the garden about 12' x 12' that I was thinking would be a good place for them and was thinking the run would take up half this space but the ones I've just seen were really only about 3' x 4'. I'm a bit lost now and need some ideas...nothing too complicated, can anyone help? We would like to go and see some in the flesh to get ideas on construction so does anyone know of anywhere in Hampshire that sells decent chicken housing?! Thanks

Sorry can't do pictures..check out Forsham Cottage Arks, they are nice. It is better to have an ark then you can move it about so the grass doesn't get stale. Also, if you are around you can let the chucks out but if you are away they can be safe but still have access to grass and sunshine. The local DIY places seem to have those cheap Chinese runs and houses, not good quality..
