She's so much better lead in a head collar than in her bridle, so I went and bought a white show halter. The lady at the shop said it was perfectly acceptable, but a woman today said it isn't as she isn't a youngster!? :(

Also-
I've asked this question before but just to clarify, I need -
cream jhodpurs
canary shirt
tie
to clean my short jodphur boots
gloves (What colour?)
-anything else?

Help :D:D:D

Perfectly acceptable unless it is forbidden under health and safety rules in your show rules (usually on the schedule somewhere). Rope halters usually give you more control than the flat webbing sort. Just make sure you have it on right, not upside down or something.

If you are still not convinced, look at this website, which has photos from the NF pony breed show, look at the in hand day photos. See how many were led in halters. http://www.pegasusimages.com/html/events.html

Maybe take your bridle, just in case your pony comes over all excited and strong, and you decide you'll be happier leading in the bridle.

To add to your list
a hat
a whip/cane
brown gloves (or to match your boots)
A tweed jacket if you can get hold of one (mine came from a charity shop)

Thank you! She seems to pull really strongly against her bit when you lead her on her bridle inhand. I think as shes previously been a childs pony she may have been 'yanked' a little by her mouth in hand. She's just so much more relaxed in a halter :D

Hat - what type would you say is best/smartest?
Can I use a black leather whip?
:D
