Hi there,
I am on full livery but buy feed for the yard as well as my horse takes a lot of feeding- he is 16 and 17.2 and in a decent amount of work. Like others our grass is all gone and scorched.
The yard add a scoop of alfalfa and half a scoop of mix morning and night, and I provide the rest.
I currently provide a ready made mix I make myself of speedibeet, linseed mash, barley and a broad spectrum supplement and he looks amazing. The yard then just soak it for the hour and add the nuts and alfalfa to it.
As it’s obviously expensive for me on top of livery I would like to switch the speedybeet to normal trident beet pellets- it’s half the price.
I need to provide the feed as a “ready made” mix for the staff to soak and just add their basic feed to.
I know I can soak the barley for 24 hours- but Google doesn’t tell me if I can also soak the Topspec linseed mash for this time? I was also considering changing the linseed mash to another type like the Charnwoods - but I can’t find it in my local feed shops- can someone suggest cheapest online delivery of this. Is it as good as the linseed mash?
If anyone knows would be much appreciated!
