Saw a nice little welsh today as a second pony to be shared between my very novice but overly confident 6 year old and my 10 year old who loves jumping. She was a but lazy and needed plenty of leg but when she got going she jumped nicely. Hacking out was very easy, no worries, easy to do etc. Her back legs looked a bit longer than front legs although her back was straight. When ridden she held her neck 'long and low', not nicely on the bit - sorry I am a bit novice but what I mean is she looked a bit dejected rather than spritely. Any thoughts?

Do you have a photo of her? You could PM the link to the advert or PM the photo if you don't want to post it on here.

Did your children enjoy riding her?

Will you get her vetted if you decide to go ahead with the purchase?

Yes girls liked her and 10 year old v excited at prospect of showing her (she's nicely bred, we'd only show very locally) she was very pretty on the ground but not that nice looking when being ridden - she's slightly bum high? She's 12. The low head carriage made me think a bit.

Need a picture to be able to comment....
Low head would possibly indicate she is struggling and needing to stretch over her back.
Might be something as simple as a new saddle.

I would get a vetting. Can't work out how to send photos via pm :-P

Came away thinking she was lovely if not v forward going but now having second thoughts. The girl riding her was much too big for her, she went better for my slight daughter. Sorry just thinking aloud really.

Do you have an instructor or knowledgable more experienced rider you could take to te second viewing? It would be worth seeing how she looks when someone gets her going forward and off her forehand to see if she looks better and to see how easy it would be for your daughters to ride her this way.
