Yes you can use it, I would personally have it without the peak and with a silk!

Yes, you can use it for XC. The peak is detachable and you can put a silk over the top. I have one myself and it is very comfortable to wear.

Yup - it is PAS 015 standard, which was why I chose it, being "Mrs Health & Safety"
