Hibiscrub?

The pony webought a few months ago has very flky skin in his mane and tail. I have been tol by someone who knew him a few years ago that he had sweet itch (the seller didn't tell me this).

He lives in at night and is out in the day with a full fly sheet and mask on.

I'm pretty sure the seller tol me she bathed him in Hibiscrub weekly - would that be right? How do I do it - dilute the stuff in a bucket of water? How much Hibiscrub in a bucket?

Incidentally, when we bought him he was immaculate with not a sign of flakey skin anywhere so I feel that we have not been looking after his coat properly.

Also, the seller gave me a pot of Camrosa which I have been rubbing into the top of his tail.

Agghhhh no - will strip all the natural oils out of his coat.

Have you tried feeding him a drop of oil in his feed daily - works wonders for flaky skin.

No but you can wash the worst flaky bits(mane, tail & very worst areas of body) in nuetregena t-gel(for human psoriasis) you can get it from supermarkets, health places ect. It really helps if you used it once a week.

We got recommended to bath Toto in hibiscrub to get rid of his scurfy coat. I used a cap-full and it worked really well. I wouldn't use it on a regular basis though, this was just a one-off thing.

Thanks everyone for replying - I don't think I will bath him in the Hibiscrub then. I will try the nutrogena and perhaps a tea tree oil based shampoo.

Will also add some oil to his feeds.
