Can it take longer than a week?

I've switched my dogs onto a new food; CSJ tripe.

They have been on it about 10 days now.

Dog one is perfect on it.

Dog two still has loose stools. She doesn't have urgency to go or have any accidents etc. When she does go, it's normally one chunk of solid poop followed by a pile of custard like mess.

How long do i keep going before considering that this food doesn't work for her?

Is there anything I can add to her dinner to help her adjust?

I'm going to measure her food today incase I'm overfeeding as she is only 20kg and I do give her 1.5 standard size mugs twice a day which perhaps is too much. I've just been concious that she does a fair bit of exercise so needs her calories but maybe that could be the problem.

I would definitely weigh out her food according to the recommendations in case it is too much for her.

You could try adding some probiotics to see if that helps to settle things down (Protexin are usually a good brand) but it may be, as @Sandstone1 says, that the food just does not suit her.

I find that pure tripe makes Mrs Spaniel have runny poo. She's alright if its mixed with something else, or as a pure meal once off once a week, but two or three days in a row, she starts to get runny!
