can someone explain the D and g measurements on rugs

Sorry ! last time i bought rugs it was a turn out or stable rug...and that was it!!

I 'think' the 'D' is denier, the higher the number the thicker (and hopefully tougher) the outer fabric will be. most of the good quality rugs will be 1000D plus. The 'g' is for grams of filling, the higher the number, the warmer the rug. Hope that's some help.

Someone else will probably come along and say something else now!
