Can someone give opinion on this horse for sale (video)

He looks a sweet honest sort.
Balance is all pretty downhill, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was something going on behind, but for the right price might be worth it and for hack / low level rc could be sound for purpose.

Bear in mind he is being competently ridden there

It’s lynn Robertson?

She’s reasonably alright but definitely 5-stage vet, she’s buyer beware when it comes to that. I had one from her when I was first looking (about 3 years ago) with an interesting problem. Also, as far as I know, she does do her returns and she does refund (eventually), but it takes a while and is quite stressful. However, the one I got did seem to be as described in terms of temperament, but I only had her for 2 days.

Something does look a bit off about his movement. I’m thinking back end, but I’m not sure which leg or exactly where or what could be going on. Just be sure to vet, whatever you do.

Yes it’s from her. Oh that’s a worry as heard only really good reviews 😬

I am not going to comment on soundness because I am not qualified but it was lovely to see such a relaxed and happy horse in a sales video.
Just wasn't sure why we didn't just get to see one continuous film of each of the bits shown, rather than little clips from each. e.g. one video showing walk/trot/canter in the school, one of a small round of jumps, one of mounting and dismounting, one of open field riding and then one on the tricks.

I think he's big, young and green and would probably do someone a really good turn if he stays sound longterm.

I also think he's coming up short near hind and based on his backend wouldn't be in a rush to view. That being said Lynn does have a good reputation for being honest and selling decent horses, she's not a crook.

OK. I think he's way too cheap for a horse of that temperament and looks who isn't an ex racer and that's a worry from a dealer, they know what horses are worth.

He is very on his forehand which is making his paces laboured especially canter, and when he jumps he isn't placing his hind feet together, he takes off more from one hind than the other most of the time.

If be surprised if there wasn't something going on with the back end, I'd want a very thorough vetting with x rays and a suspensory scan.
.

I saw his ad earlier (it was on an email from Horsequest) and thought he looked nice, the ad does say that he windsucks when stabled (personally that wouldn't put me off much as mine live out) - might explain the low price. I would search on here for threads about this dealer, and go and see the horse rather than have a trial as you may find it takes a while to get the money back.

He's over bent and I don't like his attitude, the hollow back, ears back and swishing the tail, falling between transitions which can be an indication of pain as well as lack of strength and balance. I don't like the way he jumps either. He doesn't look comfortable and the price is a giveaway that all is not well imho.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I don't think he is under priced.
He is full TB which will instantly put an awful lot of people off and he has no competition record.

I've looked at Broadhill stables a few times, I've never viewed anything (though I have been tempted). All of their stock seems reasonably priced. Not cheap but not top end prices.
I suspect we may be seeing a lot more 'cheap' horses entering the market soon.

Or he is a young uneducated and unbalanced horse being rushed by the leg with a rider who needs to get her head up and looking forwards and a bend in her arms and her hands off his withers. He is doing his best despite being hindered by his rider. Slow it all down, back to basics with a lot of transitions along with thoracic sling exercises and suppling work. He appears to be golden in traffic and generally a pleasant chap, No one can tell if he would vet and there is one confo point that no one has highlighted as yet that may or may not be a concern for the future.

For the money he is worth looking at and must be vetted.

That’s good to hear. He’s £6950 😬 but hunted 2 seasons, anyone rode basically, 7 yr, tb, 16hh
Before I read the comments I was about to ask if he’d hunted!

The canter looks very familiar to mine when I bought him 🤣

He looks a bit tight behind but it’s hard to tell as he’s massively on the forehand, overbent and unbalanced. He seems quite sweet and it’s nice that he falls off the leg rather than rushes when he gets unbalanced as that’s a lot easier to work with. On the other hand I’m not a massive fan of the tail swishing and ear pinning when asked to go forward, though that could just be that he’s unbalanced and finding it difficult to work in the school.

You’d really have to try him and get a full vetting done but all being well I think you’ve got plenty to work with. He’s definitely not ready to go though, I’d expect to put 12 months at least into reschooling and strengthening him as that learned way of going can be hard to undo.
