I bought a second hand saddle last year for my daughter's young horse. It didn't fit him, and now he has passed so i am selling the saddle.

The plate by the stirrup bar says Falcon, and the stud has a bird imprinted on it. On the saddle flap where you tuck your stirrup leather end in, there is a faded bird in gold.

On the stirrup bar it is stamped WBS6635

On one saddle flap underneath it is stamped 06A208 in the leather.

Is this a Jeffries saddle?

If so, is it a Jeffries Falcon or a Hawk?

What do the numbers denote? Can we tell how old it is from the numbers?

Thanks everyone, home made apple crumble in return for information!

It sounds like a falcon hawk event. I have one.

Second hand should fetch around £400, brand new they are £1100 ish. They are very hard to find now 2nd hand so don't give it away. x

The Hawk Event has a padded skirt (the small flap over the stirrup bars) some other Falcon models have plain single thickness ones. They also have a stirrup leather keeper which has a triangle shaped piece at the end of it if that helps.

Yes, the skirt over the stirrup bar is padded, and the end of the stirrup leather keepers is a triangle shape. So I guess it is a Falcon Hawk saddle.

The code on the stirrup bar, the W is bigger than the other letters/numbers, do you yhink this means it's wide fitting?
