further to some previous posts ive put i have some more questions

my 5 year old is in a eggbutt snaffle, was having issues with him not goibg forward and throwing his head in the air constantly. back, saddle, teeth all fine btw

so took the flash off (thought it was annoying him) and hes been fine for a bit. however today was trotting round and ge has discovered he can get his tongue over the bit.! his tongue must be the longest in the world, it was sticking out the side if his mouth!!

would a drop noseband stop this?

also he is reluctant to look for his snaffle, sine people suggested the happy mouth bits with a lozenge (he has a wee arab mouth and hates a french link)

Instead of stopping him you need to find out what it is about his bit he finds uncomfortable and try and find one that suits him better. A non shaped french link can give alot of tongue pressure, especially small mouth sorts. A shaped one can be really great at giving tongue relief and space (and so reducing the desire to pull their tongue over the bit) without impacting on the palatte. the cotswold sport tongue saver is just ace for this http://cotswoldsport.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_66&products_id=467
I'm not fussed by the happy mouth ones, they really are bulky and are too much for alot of horses.
