Can vets do a 'mobile' scan?

I was just wondering whether anyone had had their horses scanned at their yard rather than taking them to a veterinary hospital? I have had El x-rayed on our yard with a portable x-ray but when I had her leg scanned last October she had to go to the horsepital as my vet didn't have the facilities to come out and scan her.
Is there such a thing as a 'mobile' scanner as I want to get her scanned again to check progress but don't have any transport so it would be a lot easier to get a vet to come to me to do it.
If it's possible does anyone know of any vets in Shrops/Staffs who offer it!
Thanks

Don't know about vets in your area but we've never had to take a horse in for scans/xrays as our vet brings the kit to us. The unit is only marginally larger than a laptop.

Well our vet has brought X-Ray machines to us a few times. Only thing was they needed a hard floor with no bedding etc. So Henry had to be scanned in the tack room

he seemed very perplexed on what was going on!

Mine always scans at our yard. Not much good to you as I'm in South Yorks, but I think it's commonplace for vets to scan on site so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting hold of someone who can.

My vet can apparently scan at the yard although I have never had to use the facility. I am near Northwich so don't know if that is any use to you. My vets are Brown Moss Equine Clinic. Tel No. 01928 787500.

Pool House Vets in Fradley, Nr. Lichfield have a mobile X-Ray machine. Not sure if this is close to you. 01283 799700.

thanks everyone for the numbers, that's great! It will be lots easier to get them to come to me than hiring a trailer or badgering someone into taking me!
Thanks
