my friends mare was put in foal via AI and was due any day. unfortunatly she couldnt deliver by herself so the vet helped and it was a still born, a beautifal black filly. R.I.P little girl. but on further examination they found another foal in there, a black colt that is very very weak on oxygen and being tube fed. her owner is up there tube feeding him every hour. the oxygen ran out through the night and he is steadily breathing by himself. please send your vibes there way in the hope that he pulls through!!

Sending lots of <<<<<<<<<<vibes>>>>>>>>. Losing our only (bogof) foal after a month of round the clock care has put us off breeding ever again. Thinking of your friend as well. I do hope she has a better outcome than we did.

his breathing has improved slightly and the mare is being fantastic!! she is just standing over him cleaning him and watching people feed him and turn him. shes nuzzling him to stand up but he to weak, but he is sitting up more. will keep you updated when i hear anything. thank you for the vibes. lets hope it does the job!

Lots and lots of vibes for the little fellow, and best wishes to all involved. xxxx

RIP the little one who didn't make it.

thank you all for the vibes, they are working at the moment! hes improving every minute although a very long way to go! his vitals are good but heart rate slightly high. hes lucky to have an owner thats making an effort to save his first home bred foal.

So pleased little man is doing well! Hopefully he'll get stronger every hour that goes by! I had to bottle feed my first homebred, she was too weak to suckle from her mum ( only for 3 days ) It was tough going enough doing that so I dread to think how awful it must be for your friend! We got her strong and she was soooo fit and healthy, grew quite big too - was about 15.2h at 1 1/2, then she went to a friends yard for the summer ( He half owned her with me ) and she fell in the field and broke her back, died within minutes! This was almost 2 years ago now! Still kills me to think of the poor little baby, especially after she'd fought so hard as a baby! I think some things are just meant to be!

xx

thats awfull!. yeah i always say what will be will be. the filly that was still born was a perfect black filly, he called her skye. she died about 2 hours before she was delivered, she just wasnt in the right position to come out, i guess it gets abit cramped in there with two.
