Come on horse and hound - i was upset enough when i saw it the first time - but can we have the picture off the opening page now please.

I am sure that the majority of people using the web site would not even dream of doing this to an animal - and i really do not want to see it anymore - poor poor horse. Please give us a choice on viewing these images.

To post again! I cant even imagine what must've happened to the poor mare, so that she was in a position to not fight back and to die from it

I know things like this go on but i really dont want it rammed in my face. Please give people the option of viewing - I also feel discourteous to the poor animal for turning my head away from it. I just hope the evil b*stards get infected with some horrific disease and die a slow painful death - preferably with their eyes exploding
 
I'm assuming it is the photo they use on the news story about the skewbald which was found dead? If so I couldnt agree more, I clicked on the story after reading the thread in Latest News, and found the picture really upsetting, distasteful and unnecessary

I was sitting eating my pudding just coming to the forum for a read but I've just seen that on the way into here and promptly started to sob my heart out for that poor horse. My OH or dogs will finish my dinner

What a horrific story.

My god what an awful awful thing to read and I'm distraught seeing that picture - the story would have been bad enough thanks, there really is no need to put that picture on there.

Ok I understand you want the owner to be able to identify it but a description would have been enough.

A much loved horse stolen and then beaten to death, I feel sick

I only hope the fndsjgbnshjo\sr that did this get what they deserve, and that is not a slap on the wrist and a £1000 fine
 
That horrible picture made me well up. What the hell has the world come to? The cowards who did this pick on defenceless animals as they cant fight back! They need hanging!
 
I specifically havent looked as I know I will get terribly upset and very angry, gas chambers need building to rid us of the scum that does this sort of vile thing.
 
It is just horrific and unbeliveable anyone person could contemplate anything like this. I saw the pics the other day on the stolen horses section. The pic is shocking but sadly may be one of the few ways that my get someone to come forward and shop the people who did it.

They have not actually stated how this mare died and I just get this awful feeling that this could be someone's beloved horse that was stolen. Still begs the question WHY??! Why do this to any animal?! It just disgusts me that the people who did this call themselves human.
 
i have just logged onto HandH website only to be confronted by this awful pic. I feel sick. Please do not do this HandH it is horrible, unnecessary and a description would tell the sad story wouldn't it? Some people are too sick for words to do that kind of thing to an innocent horse, i do not need this ramming down my throat.
 
I agree so much with everyone that these pictures are far too graphic to put in print all the time, there are more and more of them every week and it makes me sick.

Also we keep getting news about what terrible things have been done to horses in places like America and Europe, do we really have to know all this? It really upsets me and makes me feel so bloody angry that I want to vomit.

I hope the bastards that do these things rot in hell.
 
I was disgusted when H &amp; H put the picture of the dead new forest mare all puffed up and bloated with her foal still trying to suckle from her. We all know bad things happen but dont necessarily want to see the horrific pictures. I complained but H &amp; H did nothing and took ages to get back to me! Useless.
 
Must admit I thought putting that photo on the home page, especially without a warning, was wrong. Children may well come on and it's rather distressing. At least when things are on TV there is a warning first.
 
i agree.i can sympathise and feel strongly about a story without pictures.i had chosen not to see pictures previously,some may say i wimped out but i can still care and would prefer to make the decision of viewing myself
 
I've spent all week avoiding looking at the picture in the stolen thread as I knew how it would upset me from reading HHOers responses. I think it's disgusting that Horse and Hound should put this picture on their main page without a warning and agree with all who say it should be removed. Poor poor mare.
