would prefer south Devon or East coast but open to suggestions really. Havent been on holiday for about 14 years and never with OH so really think its about time we treated ourselves. Must be self catering, cottage ideally and safe, secure garden for 2 ESS a must, other than that dont mind too much what its like. Will only be me and OH plus the dogs, ideally we would be walking distance of a dog friendly beach. What we dont want is anywhere too busy and manic, we want to relax, walk and eat. Thinking late May early June. Any top recommendations would be gratefully received. Have been googling but cant seem to find anything that appeals. Oh, dont want to be on a site or on a farm, nothing personal, just want our own little space.

We recently stayed at Sleepy Hollow cottages in Sommerset with 2 of our dogs. Was lovely. They even had a big field we could let them run and play in. And lots of nice walks for them too :)

If the Peak District appeals, my landlady runs a massively popular dog friendly holiday cottage. Very quiet, with secure garden. Total lack of beach I'm afraid, but PM me if you want more details :)

You could try googling Black Cat Barn holidays in Norfolk - we have stayed at two of their properties and been very happy indeed.

Putsborough Manor in Devon is another good one - they are within walking distance of the fabulous Putsborough Beach.

We stayed at a fab dog friendly barn conversion in Happisburgh, Norfolk last November. Accommodation was first class, local pub was extremely welcoming (landlady went into kitchen and brought our dogs pieces of beef to snack on!) and locals made a fuss of the dogs. PM me if interested. We'd go back there again!

I used to work here and they are very dog friendly, excellent walks in rural areas and a dog friendly pub in the village. They do ask for a small extra deposit (excuse the pun) for dogs but that money goes to the dogs trust at the end of the season. Close to whitby and scarborough as well as pickering and malton which are great for shopping.

Happy holidays :)

Hi there, I can highly recommend Red Doors Farm in Luppitt, Honiton, situated in the Black Down Hills in rural east Devon. Stunning 5 star cottages, friendly owners and lots of walking and things to do in the area. This can be found on Premier Cottages web site if you wanted to take a look:)

I have been lokking for the same and have just booked a cottage at heacham, norfolk for june. 10 mins walk to very dog friendly beach, enclosed garden and takes 2 dogs - booked through norfolk cottages, Dora cottage.

If you are interested in West Wales check out Coastal Cottages, Pembrokshire. We have stayed in a few with our two dogs. Beautiful area but I may be biased.:D
