Can you be allergic to dog saliva?

Hope this isn't a stupid question.

Harvey licked my face on Friday and my neck after he'd mounted a successful "run and splat" campaign to get on to the settee. (It really is hilarious watching him do it).

By late Friday night I was itching and Saturday I had lots of spots on the side of my face, my neck and across my collar bone. Is it a coincidence do you think?

Jasper used to be a licky dog and I never had an issue with his saliva.

I doubt it was his silva as I *think* that's pretty standard....could be something he had just eaten?

Apparently you can - my niece and a friend both break out in hive type things from dog saliva...my niece has problems with catlick too! :O
