...stops the reins from going over your horse's head if you fall off?

I was talking to someone about it today and as I am HIGHLY likely to fall off my speedy pony I want to know that he won't get knotted up.

Someone suggested a martingale but I was wondering if there had been something made specifically???

There's the Irish martingale (I think that's what it's called?) which is used in racing....

I have always found that when the reins go over the head, they snap or the bridle does with no injury to the horse

irish martingale, that is why they are used on race horses

Put a knot in your reins? Then if they go over, they'll not be long enough to get into legs/feet.
