My mare is currently suffering with arthritis in her knees. I have had her on NAF Superflex for about 6 weeks and it does seem to help her, but i think she could use more help , IYSWIM. Would it be bad for her if I put soluble Superflex in her feed as well? Or would it be better to switch from the Superflex to something even stronger?

Cost is not an issue right now.

You can give too much of anything, i would consider changing rather than adding to.

I would speak to your vet and NAF as I think, if memory serves me right, if you feed two of the same kind of supplements that they cancel out each other so it would be like not feeding a supplement. Have you tried magnetic boots, you can leave them on for 23 hours a day and everyone I know who has used them said it has helped their horses.

Naf superflex isnt the highest dose supplement available in terms of glucosamine. Ideally you need to feed 10grams of glucosamine hydrochloride (not sulphate) a day. If memory serves me right even the high dose of superflex is only about 8g. Nutriscience do a supplement called arthriaid that gives 10g per day of gluosamine hcl at the higher dose.

You could also try boswellia. Its a herb that can help arthritis
