Mum's idea I might add as I think she is fed up of falling over the bag sat in our garage!!!

So could I soak say a week- 10days worth for the usual 24 hours, boil it up, bag/tub it into "feeds" and then freeze it so all I need to do is take the next feeds worth out the freezer each night to defrost? Would make feeding it 100 times easier!!

I understand that by soaking and then boiling it becomes safe to feed so is there any reason why freezing would alter this?

i would assume that the cooking process has destroyed the poisons already, but not to take any chances try ringing a professional eg your vet, feed help line, or whoever supplies the linseed

No idea about freezing, but would have though it would be ok as it has had the cooking process.

I personally prefer to use instant linseed - is more expensive, but so much less faff.

Oh don't worry - next lot will definately be the instant stuff - mum has even offered to pay the difference as she's fed up having her kitchen taken over for cooking the stuff!

£40!!! that's expensive!!! we sell sacks of micronised (cooked) linseed for £21 per sack!

I pour boiling water on my linseed and leave it to steam itself overnight in a tupperware tub with the lid on.
My horses arent dead yet
