I think this may be my first rant!!.

I have just got Andy pony a saddle......a rather nice 15" thoroughgood Maxam....... was very chuffed.

Would you belive it though, it is too bl***y long. Perfect fit width, but too long. Ahhhhhhrrrgg..... that is now going to have to be e-bayed. My own fault, I didn't measure properly

Oh well back to the drawing board and now the hunt is on for another saddle.....

arrg.......

smlalest i've come across is 14" - but do not know about them little club or cub whatever they are called saddles.....one with handles!

Hi G,

I'll pop my little cub saddle in the car when I come over to you tomorrow afternoon, so you can at least try it to see if that type would be suitable. It's cheap and cheerful, but they cost less than £50 new.

Then again, I suppose it also depends who you're going to have backing the pony, because they might not actually be able to fit in the seat of a Cub saddle, and I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than very light work (or for the first few months after backing).
