hi, i have a 9yr old bich called molly, and have just been offered a 5 month old pup but also called molly, thought about changing it, but wouldn't that be hard for her if im calling the other dog??

I don't see why. I change animals names if I have duplicates and they all get the hang of it. They'd have to be incredibly stupid to not get it.

Why not change the new dogs name to Holly and just change the pitch of your voice when calling each one so they can tell the difference.

I know someone who always has rhyming dog names so both her dogs come at once! Dogs can get used to a change of name pretty quickly, but try to stick to something that sounds broadly similar, like Poppy for example.

but my dog is 4 months (i know one month younger but...) and her name is maggie and we call her maggie moo, then it changed to maggie moobie and now she comes back when we shout moobie! so i dont know it you could do something like that?

Just use an excited high pitched voice to call her and give her a treat when she responds and she'll know her new name within hours!
