Right. I own 2 horses and when my daughter was younger and in the pony club we had a lovely new Bateson trailer which we used on a regular basis. She then lost her pony to colic but he was replaced with another. 2nd pony was not brilliant to load in the trailer but always went in after a short spell of arguing and alwayas behaved and travelled well in trailer. My 17.2 warmblood also travelled in the trailer well.
I have a very good friend who over the last few years has let me use his 3 horse Lorry which I have done on a regular basis. I found it easier and more convenient as 2nd horse
( still owned) loads into lorry no probs This rendered my trailer redundant so and I sold it about 2 1/2 years ago. ( Big regret really)
My friend has since sold his Lorry but replaced it with a newer, but as he put it, slightly more troublesome vehicle. He has said I can use it but has also said that it's not as straight forward as the old one. Also he is going through a marriage break up at the moment and I don't want to pester him about using his lorry but I have a few things I would like to do in the next few weeks.
So.........my question is, should I take the plunge and get myself another trailer ( I want a Bateson again) of which I will need to take out finance for but will have at the drop of a hat.
Try and find reasonably priced self drive horse box to hire each time I want to go somewhere. Cost factor and lack of convenience is the drawback.
or keep asking my friend for the use of his lorry.
Any ideas? Thanks
