Hi I am looking for a 14.1 - 15.1 confidence giver for my first horse. I am a novice rider so I need a quite horse/pony that is very safe/push button/ snaffle mouth. I am looking for something that is happy to live out hack alone and be ridden in a paddock. Not fizzy excitable and no vices. Been looking for ages in all the normal places on here/horsemart local saddelry etc but no such luck yet and getting a bit disheartened. I live on the norfolk/cambs border if you know of anything please let me know! Thanks guys

depends on the horse/pony really i dont want to spend loads because Im not wanting to compete, hunt or anything like that.

these days a 'safe' horse is commanding high prices - more so than your average low level competition horse. Something that lives out may also attract interest atm due to the credit crunch. No offence but you may need to look at horses/ponies in a slightly higher price bracket than you had been hoping for. How far are you willing to travel? x

Safe Cobs and Stubley Hollow seem to have good reputations. BE CAREFUL. I wasn't and ended up buying a so called 'bombproof ex riding school horse'. She was ex riding school for a reason, her rears, bucks, spins and bolts generally succeeded in unseating her charges and she'd been expelled. I love her to bits and her quirky ways have improved my riding no end, you have to learn fast to stay on a nut case!! We paid almost £4000 for her but that was a while ago. In retrospect I'd have paid twice that amount for a genunine schoolmaster...but they are like gold dust.
