Hi I have a 14hh pony that I want to take in bsja classes, would I be allowed to take him in with the horses, or is he only allowed to jump in the pony classes ? Im over 16 so i cant do pony classes but he is well capable of jumping bigger fences that we are doing at the moment. I know I can do the club bsja classes on him but I want to do the normal bsja classes instead!
Can anyone help please?

Hi - I have a 14.2 who I registered and I'm a senior, he did very well in BN and Discovery but couldnt manage any bigger as the distances were a bit long for him!

As far as i know u can jump up anyway u want ie kids on horses so jumping up an age group and ponies jumping horse tracks. I think its only down u can't go so no adults or horses in pony classes. A quick email to bsja won't hurt if your not sure though

As long as your in seniors you can jump your pony in seniors.. A lot of people don't unless their pony is really out of this world at jumping as you have a lot of competition and the distances are normally strided for something bigger.

When my daughter was out of juniors, we registered her two ponies as horses, but they do struggle sometimes with the distances so we dont jump as big as they were doing (they jumped upto 1.20m in ponies, but now the maximum they jump is 1.05m)

Yes you can register a pony as a horse which then must be ridden by senior.
Only restriction is the pony cant then be re-registered as a pony until 12 months has elapsed.
As others have said, the real issue is the striding on combinations.

Yes you can, I jump my 14.2 as a horse as I am a senior, she is quite long striding so manages horse distances quite easily, as others have said I would think this will be your only issue as the distances are measured for horses.
