Can you jump in a standing Martingale?

standard kit in the US for hunters - rode probably 15 different hunters over there and never had problems - both hunting over some largee fences and competing - heres the only pics i can find at the mo - dont know what my hands are doing LOL
loved this horse - was the one i'd have bought back to the UK given half the chance - he was 4 and a sweetheart
