Can you leave a turnout rug on in the stable?

Mine only wear stable rugs if they are in for any period of time due to injury or bad weather. Otherwise, I agree with what others have said, I think it must be horrible to have a rug taken off that's all warm inside, to have a cold one put on and the horse having to stand in it until it starts to warm through the horses own body heat

I know a lot of people that do it - waterproof so not soggy rugs if lying down :)

I'd leave mine on over night (last thing before I left for the night) if say someone else was turning them out for me in the morning - saves them messing about swapping them :D

If your horse gets dirty in the stable a T/O rug repels stable mess better and doesnt absorb it like a stable rug.

Repels better but not completely and I don't want to wash T/Os at all.

Plus mine always gets it on the inside at the flaps at the back when he lies down where it's not waterproof and of course the straps gets filthy.
