Can you put suncream on a dog?

Yeah that's what i was thinking - do think it's worth just putting a tiny bit on first to check?

Yep it is very important to protect animals esp white ones in the sun...the tips of the ears, nose, tend to be the most sensitive and easily burnt, kiddies sun block is commonly used for animal sun protection, although im sure you could probably buy an animal product there is sure to be something on the market by now.

That's great thanks - she's black mostly but has a white bit on her belly which is pretty much bald (lurcher) and the skin gets dry anyway so i don't want sunburn on top!!!

We regularly put childrens sun cream on our bedlington terriers as they are clipped around the ears and under the belly and all LOVE sunbathing!!!!

zinc and castor oil cream (baby bottom cream) is great for sunburn, i use it on my horse too, also does wonders for mudfever

Thank you, hopefully she won't get actual sunburn but good to know. i always wondered if sudo cream was ok for dry skin etc on dogs - anyone?
