Hi I am looking to invest in an electric fence energiser but am confused by the different types etc.

I was looking at getting the Fenceman cp500 but can't find any reviews anywhere.

Any advice welcome, your experiences with different makes and models.

Thanks in advance!

I use Hotline energisers after they were recommended by my local electric fence man :) He say they are easily repairable and British made. I'm completely converted to them, they do a great job.He advised me to stay away from Fenceman as he can't repair them as it is very hard/costly to get parts.

I used to use mains power, now I am converted to solar energisers, and they don't need the sun to work, just daylight.

Not cheap to buy initially, but efficient and easy to move around, no external battery to faff about with either.
I am quite sure they must be available in the UK.

Thank you both for your replies. Appylass thanks for the advice not to get a fence man but am still rather confused with which hotline one would suit me best ahhh whys there so much choice?

Enfys if my finances can stretch it would be worth getting a solar one like you say no faff.

I have a Hotline gemini - like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELECTRIC-...ultDomain_3&hash=item2eb8e22b28#ht_500wt_1203

I forget exactly how much fence it will electrify but it's a lot. It does about 1500 metres in my field no problem. I also have a smaller model which is also good. I chose the one above as it can run off the mains too, just in case I can ever do that! I've used a solar energiser too, I found it good except in the worst of winter when it didn't really get enough of a charge. I can't remember the name of it right now but I can find out tomorrow if you want?

Go for Hotline every time. Luckily as I live in Devon I'm within striking distance of where they make them and had absolutely superb customer service when I needed repairs mega urgently; they did it while I waited.

My uncle was a farmer and regularly had to fence cattle back and he'd never have anything else but Hotline when he was farming.

Can't fault them really :)
