I'm buying an IW trailer, and need to get some security for it.
I've looked at the soldsecure website, and seen their "Gold" recommendations, SAS Supaclamp Gold, Bulldog Centaur etc...I've been trying to look up reviews on these products and having a hard time finding anything.

I'll probably put 2 clamps on it as a deterrent. It seems that no clamp is secure though, I keep reading that the thieves just grind through them.
Has anyone had an actual theft attempt, and the thieves couldn't actually get the security device off? If your trailer was security clamped and was STILL stolen, what was the device that the thieves broke through? Was it an insurance approved one?

I'm also confused, because I don't know what size the trailer tyres are, and a lot of clamps are dependent on wheel size.

Can anyone recommend something that is a good product?

Also, there is a big difference in price in the "Gold" rated soldsecure recommended products - anywhere from £70 to £220. If they are both gold rated, should I just get the cheaper one?

Im buying one too - different model to yours and emailed ifor williams to ask them for a recommendation.
For mine they emailed me back and advised the Bulldog QD33 or QD44.

Yes Bulldog are safe secure and insurance approved. Give these a call they supply and have all sorts in stock...

I think it is also important to remember ease of use, some clamps seem to be designed for caravan owners to only have to remove a couple of times a year in the daylight  not twice a week and trying to put it back on in the dark!

For this reason we have had two and passed them on, The SAS lock was sold to us when we bought our trailer and wasn't too bad to fit but did require you to put an allan key in a dark hole in the right place and the lock barrel comes out (great for loosing in the dark!)

ours has different wheel nuts fitted and it latches on to those, and is a 2 second job, on the wheel nuts, wiggle to right place and push button to lock so easy to use at home and if I got hunting/we go for a hack in middle of nowhere. I shall try and find a link!

eta our trailer is insured with just the hitch clamp on (which would only be a screw drive job I am sure...)

I think it depends how often you intend on using your trailer really.
