Can you use a bradoon instead of a snaffle?

Probably a really stupid question but I'm asking in case there is some reason I've not thought of why you shouldn't.

I like the little rings for my horse's little head. :o :)

Yup. I've shown my mare in one and won a riding club horse class (entered late so had to strip my double outside the ring to make a snaffle bridle).:D

I used one on my mare for years, the lady in the shop advised me to as she said it would make my pony's head look prettier than it would in a normal eggbutt, and I have to say I have always thought that since!

My first horse was an Anglo Arab she had lovely very Arab head I always used a Bradoon for no other reason that she looked pretty .
