Can you use hairdye on hair of the equine variety?

As title guys, we have a horse with white bits on its legs we don't want to show in the ring. Not actual white markings just the odd cluster of white hairs.

Was looking at buying some non permanent non ammonia hair dye to put on?

Obviously would do the test patch as you do on your own hair to check for allergy etc.

Good idea or bad?

Don`t want to go down the make up route as it gets everywhere!

Rio has been known to go dressaging and showing wearing 'just for men' on his white scars...

I did a tiny patch test to see first, and then the next day i did it. Did notice I had to leave it on longer though, as the first time I did it, it went purple
