can you use these with english saddles?

as the title says really, love the look of these but not sure of the practicality with an english saddle?

all the fashion these days with showjumpers! especially when riding when not competing eg big show like Hickstead or bicton the afternoon stroll will be with one of these under the saddle

I wonder if you can unfold and throw it over the couch!.

At my yard in the tackroom there is a saddle with one of those but it is also coupled with a thick sheepskin numnah and a pad. No idea if the owner uses all three together.

I have had them fall off, but never when I groomed for myself. I like them, but make sure you know how to fold them properly.

really dumb question but are they likely to come with instructions on how to fold them properly?

I struggle to fold a towel!
