Ellie can say please! She's very polite...until she realises that although she's been asking nicely, you don't actually have any polos. Then she flattens her ears and tries to lunge at you!

Mum's pony used to be able to count to ten; if she clapped, say, four times, he would paw the ground four times! V clever! not been able to train Elz to do this though!

Well one of mine can cough and fart and the same time!!! My shettie can turn the yale key in the feed room door and make all the feed disappear!!!

bow - v simple let him know u have a carrot, hold it lower in front of him ech time so he has to lower headto get it. say bow in very clear voice. make sure your movements are exactly the same each time. dont always use food as a reward once horse has got the idea tho.soon have them head inbetween font legs, bending one knee. always do it on thick bedding/v soft surfce tho! lying down - more complicated and have seen different ways of doing itcan pm u if u want. most important things wih trick training its that its FUN for the horse, dont overdo it, lots of reps little and often. dont always use food as a reward or leading to biting. its a great way of building upa bond with your horse and doing something abit different with them

ets - i am not into parelli either, nor am i a tree hugger - my horse doesnt bite and i ride him every day - without a carrot stick or a rope halter

My highland, being a very hairy beastie in winter, comes in with mud everywhere. I taught him to hold his front legs up in turn so I can get the mud from "under his arms". He bows a little bit but being chunky, he finds it quite difficult. Gives great kisses too.

I wouldn't class what Twig does as tricks as such, they're just behaviours he's learned.
Opening his door is his favourite, hence lots of bolts and clips on door.
Picking up and throwing the headcollar when he wants to be turned out (very annoying!! Headcollar now tied to a tie ring to prevent).

I have taught him to pick up his feet on voice command - this is more from when I had a bad back and it hurt to lift too much. So now I count for him to lift feet up and he does.

He also lifts his front legs on voice command - after girth has been done up to stretch out.
When I take his headcollar off in the stable, he'll turn his head and drop to make it easier.
I don't think these count as 'tricks' though, more just manners!

He's quite a clever boy, so can imagine he'd quite enjoy tricks if he was allowed!

Yup, Minstral is good at that too.
When I bought him, I was shown his "tricks" which are really an extension/ cross between in hand and loose schooling. He will walk and trot alongside me, keeping his shoulder in line with my shoulder- stop when I stop, turn when I turn, back up when I back up, all completely loose. Lasts about ten- fifteen minutes until he gets bored and goes back to grazing! He does seem to enjoy it though and it keeps him paying attention to me- all done with body language and no voice commands.

He also lifts his feet in turn for me when picking them out- I only ask at the first one- as I move around, he holds them up ready for me.

I don't really see these as tricks though, he's just very well behaved and trained, wee honey. :

My horse is very clever she can stand on her back legs with her fronts in the air!!! Come to think of it she can stand on her front legs with her backs i the air too!!!

Both mine give kisses, picks up feet on command and come when I call then and will follow me around in walk and trot without being held. As Twig said I think it's just manners rather than tricks. Unfortunately Fudge does the throwing the headcollar thing when he wants to go out and it is very annoying!

My mother has just phoned to tell me that Be was doing handstands in the field this evening

Does that count?!
