Ok I will explain more, basically if you decide to cancel an appointment, for your farrier or trimmer 3 weeks In advance of the due date.
Would you then expect to be called up & expected to give a reason as to why you haven't re-booked?

I'm a little annoyed ATM tbh with my trimmer, I'm a very fair person & would never cancel an appointment without giving loads of notice. I really don't think I have to give any reason as to why I have cancelled my next appointment. Or do I? Would you expect to be hounded to give a reason?

Presumably you have decided on another trimmer or farrier? Its hard if you are put on the spot but if you are unhappy with the trimmer, I would have just said that I wasn;t happy with the work and had deicded to go with another trimmer/farrier.

Or just say, sorry I don't expect to have to give a reason.

You certainly are not obliged to give a reason, but it is good to give feedback.

I can understand the trimmer wanting to know the reason you have cancelled in case they have done something wrong or offended you. It makes good business sense. However, you are not obliged to tell them the reason, though I would do so if I was asked.

Of course you don't have to give a reason. If I cancelled and didn't rebook my farrier he might ask if everything was ok but doubt he'd call me and interrogative me and besides, he knows I really rate him so it would be unexpected if I did that. IYSWIM?

I would expect to be asked as I expect him to be committed to the ongoing care of my horse (in the foot department) rather than just someone who turns up and does a job and goes away again.
Could he have thought you had forgotten to rebook and wanted to make sure he had space for you - or was he rubbish and you were quietly trying to give him the slip?
