Has anybody used them?

They sound good but at £49.99 to £89.99 they are quite dear. I'm worried that it will be a very hot summer. I absolutely hate hot weather myself and having to watch/hear panting dogs. I've already ordered cage fans to supplement my air conditioning unit! plus a UV reflector drape for the cage if I ever use it outside (otherwise it becomes a dining room window screen) and a giant sun reflective umbrella. Is it worth adding a canine cooler as well???? The dog is playful though not a real chewer so I'd have to put a light cover on it.

Such a pain they don't do a size between the small and medium.

sounds a bit wishy washy to me... They don't actually say how it works. I wouldn't be investing-get a paddling pool and fill it with water for hot days!

I've thought about something similar in the past, but my two are happy enough to take a dip in the paddling pool on hot days.

I know it's not environmentally sound, but I am loving my air-conditioned apartment today (92 degrees), and I'm sure the pug man (who went to the park just after dawn) is grateful as well!

we used to do alot of agility with our 2 dogs in the summer so we made them little towel rugs which you can soak in water and put on them. we just bought some ordinary towels, and with a bit of trial and error, made them so they slipped on over the heads :D and we died them and made them pretty by stitching ribbon round the edge :P

they work really well and we also use them in the winter for the whippet as an underrug as she hates goin out in the cold :P

My friend has house rabbits and gave me an idea which the dogs also love in the heat. She freezes 2 litre water bottles and slips them in a pillow case. The rabbits/dogs lie against them - works a treat and costs nowt :D

having worked in the pet industry for the last 15 yrs, i can say that these sort of products are well and truly aimed at the owner. its amazing the amount of money people will spend on their animals if they believe they are doing the right thing for them and clever marketing bigwigs hve most people believing just that! think about wild dogs in hot climates, how hve they coped without these "fashion" coats? ok, they dont hve the fancy thick coats we've bred into our pet dogs, but dogs are dogs. *steps off soap box*
