Baby cob is teething. He was really tetchy to ride on Wed and trying to bend right was like trying to bend an ironing board so I guessed something was up. Today it's obvious that his canines are just poking through on one side of his bottom jaw and the gum on the other is solid and a bit warm.

He's obviously grumpy and chewing on everything in sight so how long do they usually take to pop through?

Did anyone find the bit causing issues either while they were coming through or after they'd erupted? I'll give him a break from ridden work because he was tetchy, but I'm concerned his normal bit (french link) is going to be a bit chunky once they're through - he's only got a small mouth.

My 4 year old connie has one erupting. He rolls up his tongue on that side and sticks it out sideways!

I'd take the tongue rolling over chewing my fences!! I think I'm going to buy him a baby rusk or dummy at this rate.

Are you riding yours or waiting for the teeth to come through fully?

He's off games at the mo due to having a sarcoid lasered off, but yes I was still riding. Just hacking out and very light schooling wearing loose cavesson noseband and not asking for an outline.
