Cannock Chase?

My plan of going to Bradgate Park has been scuppered because you can't ride there at weekends but I'm determined to get out this weekend so I wondered about Cannock Chase instead. Do you need a permit to ride there?

When did they stop you riding there at weekend?? I've only been once but it was a weekend I'm sure, or a bank holiday Monday for sure

what about the mid shires way? there's loads of bridleways across it and most of it is grassy tracks.
