Sorry may be long ..
Up the yard yesterday, Honey was being her normal cuddly, snuggly self
But it made me think, i could barely touch her last year
She was a very nervous little mare, was untouched for a few years with my friend who used her as a broodmare, i just lost my loan pony and was helping my friend with her horses, and Honey just stood out
She was really spooky, flinched if you touched her and when i got her back to my yard she ripped a wall off that she was tied up to when i tried to groom her. She was a lttle moo to catch, we are talking HOURS
Eventually i could groom her almost all over (back legs still a bit of a issue to this day!) so we started lunging, in a pen made with electric fencing (not on) Honey flipped and charged through this MANY times :/
She started to trust me more, but still was very wary and if you raised your hand too high ect she flipped and bolted.
She had a real problem with the farrier, as she had a bad experiance when i first got her, and it took months and months for the farrier to even get near.
But yesterday i groomed her all over in the field (shes very wary when shes not in her nice safe stable lol) picked out her feet, had snuggless ect
Im so proud of my little mare and sooo happy that she trusts me now
