Rhino for me all the way - only because FAL have recently been bought over by some other company so it is a nightmare trying to get any spares or patches off of them for repairs.

Just been through the same dilema and went for the FAL Cheiftan as managed to get a good deal on ebay with neck included

Love the Bucas for lightweights and mediumweights though!

Depends on the build of your horse.
All the Fals Ive had have been very deep at the chest apart from the Chieften sp where the neck cover wouldnt fit. My horse has a big chest and is a MW so I thought FAL would be best for him but I find the pull back on him and rub.
I have Rambo and Rhino and despite them being known to fit narrow horses better, fit my boy really well. I do go up a size though.
Ive only got one Bucas and its a cooler and it fits reasonably well.
I love Horseware rugs, expensive but last and last.

RHINO! I have had mine for 4yrs without a scratch on it, it hasn't been waterproofed all that time and is stiull the most waterproof of all my rugs. I LOVE it, and am eyeing up a stable rug for madam

I hate fal rugs.

For me it would be the Bucas - as I brought one last winter and its one of the best rugs i have ever ever brought, it has a detachable neck which doesn't lift in the wind. They have a great new closure system on the front and even my precious beast didn't get cold when it was awful weather (normally would of had two rugs on but just one), but when it warmed up she was still ok as they have such a good temp range on them.

i love both my fal and rhino however i find the fals a bit deeper which i like. i have also had one of my fal rugs for 8 years and it is still like new. i can't comment on bucas a i have never had one.

re fit of rhino, I have them on a very narrow anglo and my welsh cob, fits the mare perfectly. Doesn't pull on the cobs chest at all but he could do with a size up as it stays so nice and forward.

Bucas everytime - I still have a lightweight bucas rug that I bought 12 years ago and its still in good nick - they really well made and last year bought the bucas power rug heavy weight and was fantastic last winter and especially earlier this year when we had all that snow and my horse was fully clipped out -didnt need anything extra under and was nice and toasty! the rug has a special lining that you can put straight on a sweaty horse and it wicks away - as i normally ride at night in the winter then rug up -this is perfect as i dont have to use a cooler to dry him off! good fit around the chest and shoulders and this one has a padded bit at front which is nice

I'd vote Rhino as I have one and it's lovely...I've never owned a Fal or bucas though so I may not be the best judge on this one!

Another vote for FAL's although am worried now they have been bought out how their product is going to be affected. Must admit I also really like Mark Todd rugs, my large WB usually only fits FAL's, but I tried him in a MT rug and it's an excellent fit. nicely made to.
