cant decide which bit as a first bit?

How old?
I've had mine since he was rising 2 and first summer we showed in hand and just had him in a happy mouth as didn't want to mess around with his baby mouth but needed him bitted as he was a colt...
Second summer (so 3 by now) had him in a sweet iron D-ring snaffle, again just being shown in hand.
Now being broken in he's in a nice wide french link snaffle.

Haven't had problems with any of them and he's taken to them all fine!! :)

I use the Hunter Dee, always with a bit strap.

I have used a happy mouth straight bar in the past but didn't really rate it. Now I just use NS bits with lozenges on everything.

We put most of the youngsters we've had in either a plain fulmer or a happy mouth fulmer, just to make sure we've got a bit of extra help for steering :) they're all seemed happy in them.
