Can't find a nice part bred/anglo arab

Lol, perhaps they're like me and don't have anyone about who can either use a camera (even a point and shoot one!) or have any idea how to stand something up so that you end up falling out about what you want or yelled at for being too picky! OH and I avoid a photo shoot like the plague now, hence only pics in a field if I have anything to sell!

But why are they all so small?
When I was younger I rode a gorgeous Anglo Arab. I've always liked them but they never seem to reach the 16hh mark these days. I've always liked Arabs in General but I'm quite tall so they're just too small for me :)
Good luck in finding something suitable op :)

Thanks everyone but I don't really want a foal, would push to a yearling. Yes Evie, it is hard to find a taller one, part breds are better if you are looking for height I think.

I knew you were teasing me! :p :p :p

The grey Ruger colt doesn't have a confo shot and the bay colt has a side on show photo that's not a proper confo shot. So maybe they just haven't taken the time to get them photographed for confo shots?

I agree they have recently been selling much of there stock so maybe time is an issue they all look lovely horses anyway, they used to have Angelo Re he was gorgeous too.

RE Angelo - I saw him for sale as a gelding. I hope he found a super home. Their Botswana Stallion was also gelded and sold. Do they still have Patros?

M - you are quite right, there is an art to taking good confo shots, help is essential and lots of time to run off 100's just so that you get one decent shot (maybe that's just my bad photography skills showing through there? ;)).

E - My 15.2 and a bit anglo was owned and ridden by a tall, but slim man before I bought her. She actually takes up your leg very well. I like horses to be under 16hh but my purebred gelding is outgrowing both of his parents. His sire apparently has a tendency to throw tall stock, so maybe he'd be good for siring taller anglos?

WWH - which is your PBA filly? I want to have a nosy at her on your website. :D

I don't think there are any pics of her on my web yet, but some on my fb page. Its Fleurs filly, I've been waiting for her to decide what colour she is, I think she's going to be a dark chocolate brown colour.

Here's a pic from few weeks ago if the link works

Where are you based? I have a 10 yr old mare, 3/4 arab 1/4 welsh. Bit of a work in progress in tje school but hacks alone and in company. Not sure of breeding but have it on her passport which is at the yard. Shes about 15hh

I've got a rising two year old by Wrays Panache out of a TBxConn mare - bright bay to make about 15 - 15.2 - 14h ish now. PM if interested.

Try putting up some wanted adverts - I placed one last month (for a part / pure Arab) and was in awe at the amount of messages I received. Preloved is also a strangely good one to keep an eye on, they had some rather nice ones advertised not long ago :)

I also saw Angelo for sale I really hope someone nice has him, I know who has Afrikhawn his kept not far from me a really nice lady has him she shows him, I think they still have PatrosHB it seems they are winding down the stud or downsizing.

Angelo's still for sale. Once I started looking I found a few ads on horsedeals. Nice horses, including a chestnut PBA, if the OP's interested.

It's great that Afrikhawn has a good home. :)

Have you looked on any of the Dutch sites for nrps horses? By default they can all be PBA registered though you'd have to do that yourself.

My last youngster made 16.1. You just have to look around. My current horse is 15.2. I have found that Russian bred horses seem to come up taller. All mine have been that sort of breeding anyway and have been tall.

No! :( My potentially giant arab is 1/4 Russian. :( *sobs*

Well if anyone wants a bigger one then the full sister to that lovely seal brown mare is also for sale and is apparently near the 16hh mark.

I hate work, I do find it very mean that you pulled the rug from under my feet and are obviously the one going to view that mare. It is local to me and I was the one searching!!!!!

I don't think you have any specific right to a horse on the open market!!!

That said, no it's not me purchasing her. I did call certainly.
I was hoping she would be a bit cheaper given she is in the depths of Wales, but alas I would be looking to break & sell and there wouldn't have been sufficient profit margin.

How big and what age is he now? My last one just kept on going! He didn't stop till he was 7. He is a magnificent horse now.

I moaned about it on this thread, there's a pic too if you want to nosey. ;) He string tests to 16hh (knee to coronet method) and 16.2hh (elbow to fetlock method), but I'm hoping the EY's 'long legs due to El Shaklan in his pedigree' theory is correct and that he stays under 16hh.
