I recently moved yards. The yard is situated in a very awkward place with regards to snow. All three directions are very windey narrow lanes with a very steep hill. Attempted to get to the horses this morning, spent 2 hours trying to find a way near so I could walk the rest of the way but everywhere my car was getting stuck and was taking me so long to free it!
I was then called in to work so had to give it up as a bad job. I will have to try again this evening but won't finish work til about 6. I won't attempt to drive again which means walking for around an hour and a half in the dark to get to them.

This is a nightmare!!

I'm worried because they don't have hay in the field and their water is probably iced over. I don't have any other livery's phone numbers either!

Can you not call the owner of the yard? Surely someone must have been able to get there to see to their own horses - wouldthey not give hay to yours at the same time? I would ring the yard owner or try and find someone with a 4X4 who can give you a lift.

I'm sure some of the other liveries have managed to get there and will see you haven't got there and thrown in some hay and broke the ice.
They'll be fine water wise because of the snow.

We have about 2 feet of snow where I am and I haven't managed to get to my shetland ponies since Saturday. Fortunately the girl who lives up there is giving them hay and breaking the ice off the water for me. It's a HORRIBLE feeling not seeing them though. I would be tearing my hair out if my old mare was still alive, she was on 4 feeds a day last year.

Hope you get hold of someone soon!
