Can't Plait!

I may be taking my friends fresian x on a mock hunt this month. He has a very long mane ... what would i do with it for the hunt?

Its far to long to plait (and pulling it is NOT an option - my friend would NEVER talk to me again)

A running plait? Thats what people on our yard have done with long cob manes

Check with your hunt, they may be into "ratcatcher" and plaiting not considered necessary now...

definitely do a running plait firtsly it'll look smarter and secondly if you leave it long it will get dirty and in the way.

I add my vote to running plait! Just make sure it's really tight, so it doesn't come out during the hunt. The other advantage is that it's much quicker to do than regular plaits.

some hunts dont mind if traditional/fresian type horses arnt plaited up but you must check with the hunt in question every hunt is different
