Following on from other threads, iv got a horse for sale cheap to good home (tb) and a tb for loan who's a stunning chap but green so needs work. I can't sell and I can't loan. All iv had is time wasters and people who want short loans when I would perfer a year + or longer if both partys were happy. If anybody is interested pm me and I can give you details. I'm in Devon

It took me ages to find a good loan home for my horse. It really is a numbers game (the more people who know the more likely you get to the one 'right' person. Have you made 'adverts' and given/shown them to all locally horsey business (feed merchants, tack shops, farrier, livery yards, etc) also you could try contacting any local trainers .... they are very good at spreading things by word of mouth!! Even though just loaning, try and get as much info/photos, etc together as you can.

I think there is a market for non TB straightforward safe horses with no vices.

Apart from that, people don't want TBs, stable vices, bucking/rearing/napping or any quirks - and they should preferably have a good low level competition history

It is stressful trying to sell or loan horses. Im sure there is someone somewhere who will want your ponios. Have you used all the free adds you can possibly come across. Thats what I done to sell a beautiful unsound mare for hacking and light work. She sold within a few weeks. Keep trying and good luck. x

I am currently looking for a loan and finding it so hard to find something suitable! I got to the stage this week where I found what I thought to be a suitable horse and then the owner got someone else to ride him for me and made a hash of it. Rode him extremely short, the poor thing was very hollowed back with his head in the air. At the end of 20 mins he came out with rubs from the bit and I decided there and then that he looked uncomfy and shouldn't go through another 20mins of a nervous mare like me on top of him (hate trying new horses). I am now hoping to go back next week and try him! I guess what I am trying to say is that I am finding probably as many hurdles as you are from the other side of the coin. So you aren't alone hun, you'll get there soon xx
