Can't stop thinking about this horse....

Sorry to hear he wasn't 'the one'

I'm sure it's been interesting for you though and food (sorry!) for thought on whether you could cope with two horses or not so who knows what the future holds :)

He looks nice enough, but something niggles me about an 11 year old like that being sold by a dealer.

ETA that's probably just me being over cautious, but I tend to think of dealers buying younger horses, bringing them on for a short while and selling them on. I would wonder why he's ended up there myself. Be very careful. xx

Agree absolutely - why is he in a dealers yard. Make sure you have blood pulled it you go for him.

And if you can't really cope with the rewards but think they are justified anyway?

Do you think I would have posted that without the doubts raised by others and the OP about having another horse in the current situation?

It's not me who posted
"It probably isn't realistic to consider another but I have a habit of insisting that as I work so bloody hard I can have what I like within reason".

Now maybe I got the OP wrong, don't know them from Adam.
But if somebody posts that something isn't realistic and then goes on to try and justify an unrealistic proposition along the lines of "I deserve it anyway" it strikes me as childish more than anything.

And as I'm in for a penny, so might as well go for a pound.

I have lost count of the amount of times I have heard people who are struggling with weight issues say things like "well I walked instead of getting the bus so I deserve a treat".

Food, horses, whatever, it's all the same if you come from the point of view of being entitled/deserving.
Change the thinking.

I think you're way over-analysing this. I understand some of your points, but I think you're being too force-full and going over the top slightly (sorry- just my opinion). I do come from the point of view of being entitled/deserving, but I also come from the point of view whereby if I work hard enough, I can reap the rewards (within reason of course- no matter how hard I work I'll never be able to afford a Ferrari :p). I don't think you know the OP and her situation well enough to harshly question her justification. I mean, she merely stated it could be un-realistic, not that she was in-capable, couldn't afford it, and the horses potentially could be at risk from welfare issues? ..some peoples “un-realistic” are different to how others define it.

Yes other posters have raised doubts, but they've posted in a manner which doesn't offend and merely suggests. Suggesting and telling are two different ways of communicating.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Yes you're right, I did bite and shouldn't have.
