This is very hard to describe, but my boy has started try my patience! when cantering out field/beach /off road hacking areas he is twisting his jaw then throwing his head down, pulling the reins ouy of my hands and throwing me forward.

He doesn't do it when in the school which makes me think that he's just doing it to try and tank off be naughty etc ... back etc not long been seen to.

He is ridden in a KK loose ring snaffle with a lozange and cavason nose band. I really don't want to go to a stronger bit because I do a bit of dressage with him.

Would a change of noseband help and if so any recommendations?

trying a grackle might help as it ment to stop them from crossing their jaw. i would change the nose band first before the bit!

hope that helps

A grackle will stop him from crossing his jaw, you can then go back to the caverson when you are in the school.

I agree - if it was his saddle or back I would expect the same behaviour in the school.
