Having a couple of canter issues with Selica and wondered if anyone had any advice?

Our first few strides after the transition are usually fine - though sometimes she just whizzes off straight from trot- , but after that things can go a bit pear shaped. She tends to either rush off or her stride goes all funny. It feels almost like she's changed leg or even gone disunited but my intrustors have said she hasn't, so I'm assuming from the ground it doesn't look significantly different but its very uncomfortable especially when compared to when she goes nicely and it just feels wrong.

So basically if anyone has any ideas how to improve on these points and perhaps get better canter transitions I'd be very grateful

Make sure you canter aids are being clear enough and that she's well set up in an active foward (but not fast!) trot. If she whizzes off, fetch her calmly back to trot and try again, sometimes you've just gotta keep practising! so do lots of trot canter trot transitions, and if she can deal with it and is a bit established then walk canter walk transitions. Make sure when you get the canter you ride it foward and make sure she's straight off the leg, they can become disunited when behind it.

Hope it helps, and Happy Cantering!
