Canter Mane and Tail Conditioner - who has put it on their own hair??

Why on earth would you when human conditioner is so much cheaper? Now, if you were asking the other way round, yes I have used human conditioner on my horses, also furniture polish!

Canter does such an amazing job though! I must admit to having secretly longed to smother my daughters head in canter when she was little and had the tangliest hair ever (even after human conditioner!)

Never did though so will be interested to see replies!

Depends on what kind of hair you have!

My hair is VERY thick, long, frizzy and curly, it almost has a wool like texture. Apart from my mum, I don't know anyone else who has my kind of hair- even my sister doesn't have my hair and none of my aunts/uncles except one uncle and my grandfather who died in 1990.

Haven't tried Canter but have used Absorbine Show Sheen on my hair as well as the Absorbine serum they now do. Works good if you have thick/frizzy/curly hair but would make normal thin/straight hair too oily and heavy.

Nope, but I use Mega-tek equine rebuilder every other day and it has made my hair thicker and grow much faster (my hairdresser was seriously impressed). And you should see my hooves... ;-P

Not always such a bad option I find it way cheaper than the fancy conditioners that do nothing!

I tried - didnt like it though, felt really greasy.

have tried most things in my hair though - chlorhexidine I wouldnt recommend either, that was really drying !!

Not used spray stuff on my hair but do use Dermoline Mane and Tail Conditioner on my own hair. Reason being I used to use human conditioner on my mares tail but it was so much nicer with the Dermoline. It is better on my hair aswell!!

Not used Canter (although do on the horse and it IS fantastic) but I do buy Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine to use on my long hair. Great stuff and SMELLS LUSH. Even my sons pinch it to use :D

Used it plenty of times, and brushed it through with the mane combe tooo for good measure!

I should add that i've only resorted to this when I suddenly get invited out to pub last minute and don't have time to go home.

I use it when my hair is really tangley! I keep thinking I should buy a bottle to keep at home but wonder what the long term effects would be!! I have long hair that is super curly (apart from when its been GHD'd the hell out of!) and so it gets super tangeld and mane and tail makes it easier to comb out!!

I've used it a few times and actually quite like it although don't spray on the roots as it can go greasy! Feels v silky though on the ends :)

yes, I have used it on my daughter (she has very thick, very long hair and is extremely head sore) it works well if you don't get carried away but there has been occasions that I did and it just went really greasy.

I admitted doing this to my horse vet (who is also a close friend as our girls are in the same class at school) and she was going to give it a go on her daughter for the same reason

In the United States, there is a horse product called The Original Mane 'n Tail Moisturizer-Texturizer (US spelling). It is so popular with humans that it can be purchased in the supermarket, as well as at various and sundry saddleries and feed stores. I is described by those who use it as adding fullness and body to their hair.

Ha ha. I thought it was just me. My hair looks like Russell Brands so I sometimes use a good skoosh of whatever detangler I am using at that time. Really tames my hair!!For the best fragrance I like the Robinsons one. I often get complimented on my shiny "ponytail" and the smell of it..makes me feel like a show pony lol:p

the Cowboy magic detangler is great - I get a massive knot in my hair at the back of my head where it sits by my collar (and it's a million times worse after hunting because of the stock!), and this makes it so much easier to brush out!

might try the mega-tek as thats what we've got in now :)

Mane and tail will break your hair. too much sillicone (sp?) in it.
I bought cowboy magic just for myself after a friend made me use some once, and looked everywhere on the bottle and there isnt mention of a horse on it so Im not even sure it is designed for use on horses...?!!
is doesnt leave your hair greasy the day after and makes it soo so soft!! :)
