I'm having some problems schooling my mare at the moment. She used to do nice transitions but recently has taken to running into the canter. She used to do a lot of hunting, and does tend to rush and get strong. I assumed it was my position but lunged her as well. Think I will book us in for some lessons, I haven't recently as have been bringing her slowly back into work after some time off. She never used to be like this, and I have also noticed that on the lunge she is stiff and wooden (for want of a better word!) in her canter. any ideas? I appreciate this is a bit random lol

I'd get her looked at by a McTimoney Chiropractor if I were you. It's possible she may have a misalignment in her back/pelvis. That would be the first thing - then I'd check teeth tack etc.

It could be her teeth, then. I'd make sure she's comfy before trying anything else. If her teeth are ok it might be worth a second opinion on her back though - what sort of practitioner did you use? Different ones specialise in different areas and they don't always pick things up (so I have found out whilst spending a small fortune with various practitioners!)

sounds like a vet issue - pulled muscles, teeth, sore back etc.

good luck
